CCAD Students Shortlisted for Photography Competition with Bowes Museum
A huge congratulations are in order for two CCAD photography students who have made it to the shortlist for a competition ran by The Bowes Museum, in collaboration with The Northern Echo and the Impossible Project.
BTEC Photography Student, Penny Park and A-Level Photography student Megan Hemsley have both been shortlisted in two different categories – a fantastic achievement which shows the high quality of our photography provision here at CCAD Middlesbrough!
Competition hopefuls were asked to take inspiration from the photographers featured in the exhibition and to share their own unique images of Northern England, “they can show anything from iconic scenery and landmarks, to the people and customs that give Northern England its unmistakeable identity and charm” and organisers also encouraged participants to “have in mind the sense of humour and spontaneity present through Ray-Jones’ and Parr’s work”.
If Penny makes it the whole way, she will receive an Impossible camera in order to further develop her photography skills and career as she is shortlisted in the 12-17 year old category. Megan has the opportunity to win £1000 cash as she is shortlisted in the aged 18 and above category
