This course will enable you to learn a wide range of photographic skills and technical abilities. This can then be applied to a range of short assignments where inspiration from the work of other photographers and students imagination can be explored. You will have the opportunity to utilise our fully equipped darkrooms to produce their own black and white stimulating imagery. There is the opportunity to use a wide range of camera equipment, both digital and film.
Fully qualified and talented staff will help you produce a range of exciting assignments covering practical and theoretical topics. Year two builds on growing expertise and imagination. The final unit culminates in a chosen topic studied at great depth and producing high quality photographic images. On successful completion of an A-Level programme of study, which includes this course, you will have the skills and qualifications needed to progress onto a wide range of courses at foundation or degree level, or go directly into industry employment. The qualification you will be awarded is titled A-Level Art & Design: Photography – lens and light based media.
DURATION - 2 YEARS
A minimum of five GCSEs at A*-B including Maths and English at minimum C grade plus a portfolio of artwork and evidence of written work.
