OVERVIEW

The A-Level pathway is designed for students who are not ready to specialise in one art and design subject or who would prefer to keep their options open. The A-Level pathway will allow students to enjoy the best art and design courses in the North East, as well as gaining academic qualifications that will provide an additional layer in their creative career prospects.

Destinations

Our A-Level students go on to explore a wide variety of destinations after they study with us. The majority, who are interested in sticking with an art and design route, choose to stay with us for another year to study our amazing Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, which allows them to get their portfolios primed for studying art and design at university level. But studying A-Levels with us doesn’t just mean you can just study art and design at university, as we do a combination of art and non-art subjects. Students choose to study with us as we are the only OUTSTANDING college in the Tees Valley and we send the highest % of students to university.
Previous students have gone on to study many art degrees, but also non-art degrees such as: Advertising and Marketing Classics Dance English Journalism Humanities Psychology Special Effects Make-Up Some have even gone on to apprenticeships in Tattooing or travelling the world!

STUDENT PROFILE

ALEX ROGERS

What are you going to do after college?
I want to head to university to study Photography, as that’s what I’ve really excelled in whilst here at CCAD.

Can you tell us something about your course that you didn’t know before coming here? I didn’t realise there was also an HE campus, it’s great for students to transition to degree level whilst still staying in an environment they know they love.

What’s your favourite thing about CCAD?I love the staff and I also really like being at an art college.

What do you enjoy most about your course? I chose to do this course as I get the advantage of getting an A Level qualification but still doing Art and creative subjects.
